Swiss Army Knife Recording Camp

(Ages 11-17)

For this camp we are getting back to the basics.  When we were kids all we had was a Tuscan 4 track cassette recorder to create all of our 4 track manifesto’s.  Our engineering campers will be doing much the same thing by learning the basics of recording using only their iPad.  Students must bring their own iPad with the Garageband app on it (or a similar app and tablet, please call to confirm first) They will work on setting up sessions, recording tricks and techniques, studio set up, and songwriting and arrangement.  The campers will use their iPad only with no other technology to create professional sounding recordings that they will be proud of.  They will get real life knowledge and know-how by our talented and knowledgable staff.  This camp blends technology and music experience into one fun and awesome week of creating and collaborating. Each camper walks away from camp with the knowledge and skills to start recording themselves and their friends right away.  We will also cover publishing your music and posting to Soundcloud, Spotify, and iTunes.  

• Learn how to set up a recording session.

• Learn basic mic placement for in-studio recording.

• Learn how to apply everything they've learned to their own hardware and software so the adventure continues at home!
